Diving on the internet this last weeks, i found this video. They talk preciselly about this case, of buying a small villa or small farm, that has generally a old house-base, that you need to remodel and renovate.
Seems a good opportunity in my view. But take care, try to look for properties nearby a city or small village, around between 10~15km far from some village with a market, hospital and this things. Many factors are envolved, if it has water, location and condictions of the property.

In general, this farms here in Portugal are from old local farmers, that went to live in the urban areas and are willing to sell their properties.

Many of them used to produce wine, olives, apples, pears, and for some reason they stopped producing.
Therefore, it is possible that you buy some small properties with these plantations, even though they are inactive.

Apartments and urban houses for Remodeling

These are from where comes the best deals in Portugal for real state investments. If you want to buy, renovate/remodel, and sell for a upper amout than you paid before, this is the best deal, trust me!
